Steps of Justice is a non-profit organization that exists to bring an awareness of injustice issues, both locally and globally, and provide practical ways that you and I can bring hope. We do this out of obedience to Jesus, who constantly models and commands us to care for the poor, the vulnerable, or orphan, the widow and the stranger. One of the ways we have been doing this lately is through health and fitness.
Phil Cunningham has been working at City Heights Prep School for the past 3+ years as a coach, teaching assistant, and mentor. He is also the co-founder of Steps of Justice. Since March, 2019 he has been partnering with City Heights Prep Charter school and created the CrossFit program through Steps of Justice called Integrity Fitness.
Steps of Justice CrossFit teaches students together in community about fitness and nutrition. Phil has been doing CrossFit for the past 5 years. He loves that the CrossFit program teaches confidence, integrity and discipline. Steps of Justice CrossFit desires to serve the community of City Heights, a low-income community just east of San Diego. There are a few gyms in this part of the city, but they are all gyms that do not offer community fitness. The workouts Steps of Justice CrossFit run are team focused and create a contagious culture of health and fitness in the community.
